Graduate Students

Manish Timsina

Namaste! I come from Nepal. And, other than doing research my interests revolve around literature, history and hiking.

Alexander Tschinkel

I am a PhD Student from Minneapolis, MN interested in experimental fluids, aerodynamics, and aerospace design. Outside the lab you can find me skiing, climbing, or playing hockey.

Jayden Stout (MS)

I am originally from California but moved to Utah for college. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from BYU in 2022 and now research with the TRACE Lab, focusing on near wall turbulent boundary layer characteristics specifically with respect to correlations with mosquito activity  as I pursue a Masters Degree.  I enjoy most outdoor activities, especially hiking, backpacking, and mountain biking, and enjoy photographing nature.

Undergraduate Students

Carson Brashear

Hello! I am a current junior in mechanical engineering from Salt Lake City, Utah. I am characterizing the flow quality of solid-state nozzles using measurement techniques of PIV and hot-wire anemometry. My interests include fluid dynamics and aerospace design. Outside of school, my hobbies include running, hiking, and camping.

Jared Vazquez

Howdy! I am currently a senior in mechanical engineering from Pleasant Grove UT. I am working on analyzing atmospheric properties that promote mosquito activity. I enjoy reading, video games, tinkering, and enjoying the outdoors.

Justin Maxwell

I am an undergraduate student living in Utah, though I have lived in three different states. I am in Mechanical Engineering and am interested in aerospace and fluid dynamics. Outside of school and work, I enjoy reading, practicing music, and playing video games.
